Like many of you, I've been watching Sarah Palin unravel faster than the subprime market. For a while there, I found the trainwreck of it all deeply amusing. But as the days have run on, my amusement has turned to horror as the full scope of her idiocy, ignorance and ineptitude has come shining through.
The horror I now feel has eclipsed all else as I have come to one terrifying conclusion: I'd vote for George Bush's third term before I'd vote for Sarah Palin's first.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like John McCain's very own threat to national security (in all seriousness... I'm willing to bet my life's savings that if this woman were to become president, she'd be more of a threat to our nation than any one of the "enemy combatants" being detained at Guantanamo) is going anywhere soon.
And I can only weep. You see, for a long time my only comfort in the close presidential rate was the thought that no matter how much I dislike McCain that no one--NO ONE--could be as bad as Dubya. But no---McCain had to go out and prove me wrong.
Sarah Palin would be even worse for the country than 4 more years of King George.
So... as I sit here trying not to panic at the thought that this woman might end up one 72 year-old heartbeat away from the presidency, I was wondering if anyone else has discovered the first nice... or, well, "nice" thing they've had to say about Bush in years. That is... it really could get even worse.
So indulge me. Is it actually possible that we've found someone less suited to be president than George W. Bush?
